Cook Stars offers structured sessions that centre around children making their own delicious dishes from scratch

I live in North Dorset with my husband and our two dogs. My career as a Norland Nanny has taken me across the UK and internationally. I've also worked in schools as a residential housemistress, offering guidance and support.

Working as a nanny for many years, I’ve developed a passion for providing healthy meals. I have always enjoyed baking with children and seeing how rewarding it is for them to learn new skills, have fun and enjoy being creative in the kitchen.

Joining Cook Stars has enabled me to combine two things I love, working with children and baking! Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with schools delivering sessions that support the national curriculum, partnered with local charities and organisations to engage and uplift young carers, and delivered inclusive SEND sessions through collaborations with local SEND charities and organisations.

My own love for food started early - cooking and baking with my mum, with family mealtimes being an important part of growing up. Today, I enjoy cooking everything from hearty soups and comforting stews to family-style Italian dishes.

I’m excited to meet your children and help them discover the joy of creating delicious new dishes in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment!

Children are naturally creative.
They are constantly investigating and experimenting in their cognitive development as they build up an understanding of how the world works and cooking brings about so many wonderful skills and opportunities. I love to watch children learn without them realising it!

Children get to learn so many skills through cooking such as problem solving, cause and effect, sequencing, counting, measuring, to name a few - plus they get to have so much fun! Our Cook Stars classes also helps children to build upon other important life skills, such as communication, independence, socialising and self esteem - watching their faces as they marvel at their finished creation is the best feeling!

We look forward to working with your school or organisation soon!

On Wednesday we had the lovely Sam from Cook Stars in to help us make bread, just like the little red hen. We had a brilliant morning baking hedgehog bread. Sam taught us all about the different techniques we needed and what ingredients we needed. We had to weigh our own ingredients, mix and knead and made the most delicious bread. It made us all very hungry. Thank you Sam for showing us your delicious bread recipe. Make sure you ask the hedgehogs for top bread making tips, they are experts now!

I worked with a young carers group at The Pod charity in Frome delivering head office free funded session making cheesecakes and edible necklaces

Thank-you so much for such a fantastic cooking session. The young carers group engaged really well and as always helped one another out sharing and supporting each other beautifully. I would love to see you back at the Zone group at the end of the year and I am sure our other support groups would benefit from one of your classes.
