What sort of things will we cook?

We alternate between a sweet week one week and and a savory week the next.
We have 3 years worth of different term time recipes, plus academy recipe as well as our workshops - so you will cook something different and varied every single week!
There are a huge variety of dishes from dinner, lunches, cakes, biscuits, breads, pastry dishes etc.

Do parents need to attend the class too?

If your child is under 5 years old then a parent or guardian needs to attend. If your child is over 5 years old, parents/guardians are welcome to stay, but do not need to and can drop off with us.
Covid 19 update - we are reducing the amount of parents at classes due to capacity limitations. Please speak to your class leader for more information about specific venues.

Do you offer a trial class?

We do! You are welcome to come along for a no obligation trial session. If you then decide to join us for the rest of the half term, your trial session is free.

What does my child need to bring to class?

Nothing! We provide everything they will need:

-Ingredients
-Equipment
-A snack
-A craft activity
-A recipe card to take home
-Packaging for their dish and a bag to take it home in.

Covid 19 update: We ask children to not bring anything unnecessary to class at this time

When can my child join a class?

Providing we have space, your child can join at any point during the school year. They do not need to join at the beginning of a term or a half term. Our classes are ongoing weekly classes rather than a fixed 'course' and so a child can join us at any point. If we do not have space, your child will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified as soon as a place becomes available.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

As our classes are small and we only offer limited places, we do not offer a discount for siblings.

My child has food allergies / intolerances - are the Cook Stars sessions suitable?

We aim to offer fully inclusive classes and can accommodate most allergies, intolerances and preferences where practical and within reason.
We cannot however guarantee an environment entirely free from allergens such as gluten and nuts for example. When you book with us, we will ask you if your child has any allergies or intolerances. If you indicate that they do, we will then send you a form for completion and discuss this with you. If you have any questions please get in touch with us.

I'm on the waiting list, how long before I will get a space?

It is best to speak to your class leader about this and see how many other children are on the waiting list. It may be that they can offer a space at a different class.

How are keeping children safe at class with the current Covid-19 situation?

We have put stringent procedures in place to keep children, parents and our staff as safe as possible. You can read more here:

I want to bring my child to class but I have a baby/ younger sibling - can I bring them?

Please speak to your class leader about this. As long as there is sufficient space at the class we will be happy to accommodate this.

I'd like to buy cooking sessions as a gift - do you offer a gift card?

Yes we do, you can purchase a gift card that can be redeemed against our classes, workshops or merchandise we sell at class. Please speak to us for further details.
