Hi, I'm Dawn,

Growing up I always had a passion for food and loved cooking and baking. I have many lovely memories baking with my Nanna at the weekends.

I pursued this love with studying food and consumer studies at university. This led me to Food Technologist roles in product development in the food industry working on chilled desserts and cakes; a particular highlight for me was developing a new traditional sponge pudding range for Marks and Spencer.

I also spent a number of years working for a cooking appliance manufacturer – I managed a team working on cooking performance, and writing instruction manuals and cook books.

More recently I’ve worked in food policy for the Food Standards Agency.

I live with my husband and three children. The kitchen is the hub of our house, and is my favourite room, where I thrive on sharing my love for cooking with my family. My middle daughter and I are quite a dream team making celebration cakes together for family and friends.

When my children were little I ran a toddler group, and loved organising art and craft activities. I’ve previously run demos and workshops for both adults and children.

In my spare time you can find me at my sewing machine or crafting with my friends. I love being hands on, and seeing little ones getting creative and cooking from scratch.

I’m so excited to be starting my Cook Stars journey.
