Cook Stars

Description

I live in St Albans with my husband, two children and our dog, Ronnie. After leaving school I had various jobs in the food service industry, eventually ending up in the kitchen. I fell in love with cooking and decided to train as a chef.

I love the way simple ingredients come together to make something really amazing and I love making people smile with the food I present to them.

After I got married and started a family I found the long hours of chef work were no longer suitable, but I was lucky enough to find a job managing the kitchen at my local primary school. This was my first experience of working with children. I adore being around them so when I heard about Cook Stars I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.

I really feel that cooking is more than a job or a hobby; it's an important life skill. Children are like little sponges and Cook Stars classes are a great fun way for them to learn.

When my own children were little they were both quite fussy eaters but I found getting them involved in the prep and cooking of dinner really helped with this. These days, they both regularly like to help with dinner and my son even cooks for himself!
