Hi. I'm Steph and I am delighted to run Cook Stars Southwell and Mansfield. Since launching last year my classes have really taken off and I am now lucky enough to run sessions every day with some wonderful children. 2023 is one of expansion and lessons will soon be launching in Hucknall and we will be adding academy classes to our provision.
Before Cook Stars I worked as a primary school teacher for almost 15 years. Sharing that 'lightbulb' moment when a child makes a connection or discovers something they are passionate about is a real honour. Igniting that spark in our young people is so important. It has been brilliant to see this happening in my cookery classes too - so many of our young people are discovering their passion for cooking.
I've always loved to cook and play with flavours. Sharing good food and good company is my favourite pastime and I am now enjoying passing this passion on to my daughter. I often take inspiration from places I have visited, something I have inherited from my Dad who used to travel with work and bring back his new discoveries!
Whenever I have any spare time I can be found tinkering away with recipes in my kitchen - most recently testing out lots of the fantastic Cook Stars recipes. Cooking should be a fun and enjoyable experience. It is a love I want to pass on to as many people as possible.
I truly believe that people are never too young to learn their way around the kitchen. I have a clear memory of my daughter, at 10 months, sitting on the kitchen worktop helping me make scones. These are still one of her favourite things to make. Cooking together has allowed us the chance to develop a positive relationship with food, develop a perspective on what a balanced diet is and spend time forming memories.
Classes, parties and events are now running for children 2-11 and sessions for secondary pupils will be launching shortly.

Our pre-school classes are designed with our littlest chefs in mind. With a little helping hand from you, each week we make recipes which encourage children to get stuck in! We provide everything you will need so you can just turn up with your child ready to have some cooking fun together. Find out more

Cook Stars Juniors
Our classes are very hands-on with everyone making their own dish from scratch!
Every week we make something different with inspiration taken from dishes around the world. With a selection of gorgeous sweet and savoury dishes each week there is plenty of opportunity to learn about different ingredients. With such a variety of dishes we try plenty of different preparation techniques....from icing to dicing we do it all! Find out more

Academy Classes
Cook Stars Academy Classes are suitable for young learners and teens aged 11-17 years old.
Our hands on practical classes teach a variety of techniques and build confidence in the kitchen week on week. Every week we cook something different with a mixture of main courses and puddings. We cook a great variety of foods, for example Indian, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Mexican dishes as well as pies, cakes and puddings. Find out more
