My name is Danie Gerber and I own Cook Stars South Gloucester - covering the South Gloucestershire area.

I am a small business owner for baking and with over 25 years' experience of cooking and baking. As part of my baking business, I always wanted to share the love of food with kids. I felt that knowing how to cook or bake something from scratch is one of the most satisfying things you could do. I started with Cook Stars in July 2025, and I devote all my love and time developing, nurturing and growing my wonderful cooking classes.

My wife Chantelle is a huge help behind the scenes with a great financial mind – plus she loves to help with ALL the washing-up!

I have a great passion for cooking, and I am a complete 'foodie'. I love experimenting with recipes and adding my own twist to traditional favourites. My mum cooked from scratch and taught me to cook so I could help when she was at work from the age of 12 years old. My love for baking came from baking my first successful cake when I was in high school (caramel cake) and serving this to family and friends. Seeing them smile as they ate the cake, I fell in love with baking as well as cooking.

We have three beautiful cats and I love cycling and walking. My wife and I also regularly go for walks in the local areas to discover new places. After spending over 20 years in the logistics industry, I decided it was time for me to fulfil my ambition of sharing my love of cooking and baking with children. I am so excited that I can now give children the opportunity to experience the wonder of food and cooking. It's fantastic to see children preparing food and cooking with us - it's a recipe for magic to happen! - as well as gaining a life-long skill, and I am loving being part of that!
