My fondest memories of cooking as a child was with my Nan and my Mum. I remember vividly helping my Nan to make butterfly cakes, sitting and watching them rise through the ovens 'window'. My mum would always let me make the Yorkshire puddings for our Sunday lunch and every week I would feel immensely proud of myself knowing I had contributed to the family meal.

I decided to take Food technology and Child Development as my specialised GCSE subjects, which progressed on to an A level equivalent diploma in Childhood Studies. My passion lay in nannying because I was able to work more closely with each child and tailor activities to the interests of each individual.

Children are naturally creative. They are constantly investigating and experimenting in their cognitive development as they build up an understanding of how the world works and cooking brings about so many wonderful skills and opportunities. I love to watch children learn without them realising it!

Children get to learn so many skills through cooking such as problem solving, cause and effect, sequencing, counting, measuring, to name a few - plus they get to have so much fun! Our Cook Stars classes also helps children to build upon other important life skills, such as communication, independence, socialising and self esteem - watching their faces as they marvel at their finished creation is the best feeling!

I absolutely love cooking from scratch and making various dishes to share with others, especially my two daughters. Food is a wonderful way to bring people together. Every celebration has a traditional meal, we gather for summer BBQ's, have family over for Sunday roasts, take kids on picnic adventures and make food for fundraisers, get togethers or even as a way to show you care when someone is unwell or needs a helping hand. Food is a universal language.

I feel very passionate about getting children cooking again which is why Cook Stars is perfect for me.

I'm excited to welcome you all to my many classes, workshops & parties - each one will become a new, fun experience for your child.
