Hi, I’m Joe and I own Cook Stars Liverpool South, covering Toxteth to Woolton and everywhere in between!
I worked in Liverpool schools for 11 years, most recently as a PE teacher. I’ve loved cooking since being a teenager, an interest that has only grown as I’ve travelled around the world and tasted various cuisines – Asian, African and Central American dishes are among my favourites. I owe my earliest memories of cooking to my Gran, who always encouraged me to try making new things!
I love cooking for friends & family, especially putting together banquets around different events, like the 32 dish (one per country) World Cup buffet!
I have two young children (aged 4 and 1) and love cooking with my oldest. My youngest currently has milk and egg allergies, so I’m used to planning recipes around different allergens.
Outside the kitchen, I like watching sport (particularly football and cricket), exercising (I have an Ultra Marathon booked in for Spring 2026…!) and going on adventures with my wife and children. We love getting up to the Lakes or finding a good beach somewhere!

Our classes are very hands-on with everyone making their own dish from scratch!
Every week we make something different with inspiration taken from dishes around the world. With a selection of gorgeous sweet and savoury dishes each week there is plenty of opportunity to learn about different ingredients. With such a variety of dishes we try plenty of different preparation techniques....from icing to dicing we do it all! Find out more

Academy Classes
Cook Stars Academy Classes are suitable for young learners and teens aged 11-17 years old.
Our hands on practical classes teach a variety of techniques and build confidence in the kitchen week on week. Every week we cook something different with a mixture of main courses and puddings. We cook a great variety of foods, for example Indian, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Mexican dishes as well as pies, cakes and puddings. Find out more
