I live in Ashford with my partner, and we recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our lives. My love of baking began with my late Nanny Marge, who taught me how to make butterfly cakes when I was little. I have such fond memories of using her old‑fashioned scale set and feeling so proud of anything we made together.
Before joining Cook Stars, I worked as a counsellor in a children’s home, supporting young people who hadn’t had the easiest start in life. No two days were ever the same, and the memories I made there will stay with me forever. One of the most rewarding parts of the job was helping the children find joy in simple things and discover new skills. Teaching them to cook or bake, and watching them take pride in their creations and share them with others, was truly magical. Cooking is such an important life skill, and it teaches so much more than how to prepare a meal: patience, organisation, reading instructions, fine motor skills, time management and so much more. I can’t wait to help others on their cooking journeys and learn new recipes along the way.
I’ve always been quite crafty, and you can usually find me with my head in a book, cross stitching, crocheting or colouring. Now that I’m a mum, most of my free time is spent looking after my wonderful little girl, we’ve just started introducing her to solid foods, which has been a very fun (and very messy) adventure.
