Hi I'm Alex, welcome to Cook stars Sheffield South West. I'm looking forward to sharing my passion for food and cooking in a fun, creative way with anyone who comes to my classes.
I believe that being able to cook and have the knowledge of a balanced diet is so important to our wellbeing. It's also an essential life skill and something I gain so much enjoyment from. Variety is the spice of life; so working in different settings and engaging with a variety of people is the perfect role for me. I feel the same about food; I struggle to choose one favourite meal, but love Tapas or Meze, as i can try lots of different small dishes in one meal.
My earliest food memories were baking with my Mam and have loved cooking and baking ever since. My triple chocolate brownie is always a crowd pleaser, and I love baking and decorated cakes for friends and family. Including my own wedding cake.
I'm a true Northern lass, I grew up in the North East and moved to Sheffield in 2004 to start University. As many students do I fell in love with Sheffield and made it my home. I met my husband again in 2020 after knowing each other through work many years before and we married in 2023. Our beautiful daughter Daisy was born in 2024 and has changed my world beyond belief. She is one of reasons i made the decision to start my Cook Stars business. We spend most of our family time outdoors, in nature, enjoying long walks and finding a cosy cafe to stop off for a tasty treat.
Before joining Cook Stars I worked as an Art Therapist for 14 years in community and education settings, as well as working in social care as a support worker and PA. I love supporting children, young people and adults to use creativity and learn practical skills to live a fully rounded life.
I’m so excited to welcome your children to Cook Stars and to share the joy of cooking with them!
